Pizza Pasta Skillet

If you love pizza and pasta equally and have a hard time choosing between them, this Pizza Pasta Skillet is the best of both worlds. It’s hearty, cheesy, packed with flavor, and comes together in just one skillet. This is one of those easy weeknight meals that looks like you put in more effort than you did—and we all need more of those.

I’ve been making this dish for years, and it never disappoints. It’s warm, comforting, and feels like a hug in a bowl. The combination of sausage, pepperoni, and gooey mozzarella brings all those classic pizza flavors, and the pasta makes it even more filling. It’s a real crowd-pleaser, especially with kids.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage (regular or hot)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • 8 ounces rigatoni pasta (or any kind you have on hand)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices, quartered
  • 1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking your pasta according to the directions on the box. Drain it and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the sausage with the chopped onion and green pepper over medium heat. Once the meat is cooked and the veggies are tender, drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Pour in the pasta sauce and mix it all together.
  4. Add the cooked pasta and pepperoni to the skillet. Give everything a good stir, then let it simmer for about 5 minutes so all those flavors can come together.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top. Let it sit on low heat just until the cheese melts.
  6. Serve it up hot and enjoy. This dish makes about 8 servings, but don’t be surprised if it disappears faster than that.

This skillet dinner is the kind of recipe that’s perfect for busy nights when you want something comforting but don’t want to fuss with a lot of steps. It’s also a great way to use up whatever pasta you have in the pantry. Swap in penne or rotini if that’s what you’ve got.

Serve it with a side salad or garlic bread, and you’ve got a meal that tastes like pizza night—but even better.
